Press Officer -Southwark (Hybrid) - 6 Month Contract - £19 per hour (inside IR35)Advanced Resource Managers are looking for a Press Officer to join their Transport client in London on a 6-month interim basis
To be successful in this position, you will need to be an experienced Press Officer, with extensive Media Relations experience.
Responsibilities:
- Deal with media relations and respond to requests and queries.
- Handle press briefings, interviews, statements, and other ad hoc duties
- Liaise with national and international journalists.
- Act as first point of contact for media on proactive and reactive issues affecting company reputation.
- Inform senior leaders about any media issues
- Drafting of media statements, news releases and briefings for approval by line managers and senior stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other Comms teams across the business and other bodies to ensure consistencies across all comms channels.
- Arrange media events and visits.
- Organise media interviews and brief seniors on likely areas of questioning.
- Note take or record interviews to ensure accurate press reporting, as well as liaise with media on any follow up questions.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of all media sectors and media relations techniques
- Working knowledge of currently PR and Media technologies, including digital and social media.
- Highquality written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with potentially aggressive and hostile questioning from the media and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across the business, as well as on your own initiative.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
