Housing Support Worker to join us on a
full time, permanent basis
at our young people's supported housing scheme inColchester.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,182 pa (plus £73.89 sleep ins).**
About the Housing Support Worker role:As a
Housing Support Worker, you will be supporting Young people aged between 16 and 21 years with tenancy sustainment, education, employment and healthy living.


What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker:

  • A trauma informed and flexible approach to working with great communication skills
  • A good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people
  • Experience working alongside individuals with high support needs who present challenging and risky behaviours
  • Good knowledge of the benefits system and entitlements available to young people
  • The confidence to sign post services to support young people

What you can expect to be doing as our Housing Support Worker:

  • Supporting and enabling vulnerable people to sustain a tenancy living within the community through providing practical and emotional support to encourage tenants to take an active part in the community
  • Key working with individuals to empower them to build upon and develop their independent living skills, supporting them to move forward into independent living via a trauma informed approach
  • Ensuring that the tenants needs are met by liaising with other organisations providing access to community-based services and resources
  • Taking an active part in tenant involvement, liaising with relevant groups and participating in relevant training and updates
