More about the role

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Industrial Gases Business as an
Electrical Plant Supervisor at our facility in Carrington, Greater Manchester.

You will work at the Carrington facility as well at various satellite plants. You will report to the Plant Manager.

You will ensure continuous control and optimisation along with the Operating Service Centre (OSC). Your accountability for production will cover the quality control and development, production planning, maintenance and safety.

Electrical ( strongly preferred) or Engineering qualifications (authorization of HV switching would be beneficial)_

Experience on production sites, health and safety focus and ability to read and create respective documentation_

As the Electrical Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for;

  • Ensuring all work is carried out following our EHS procedures including safety work permit issuing
  • Ensuring Compliance with preventative maintenance requirements for Facility & Satalites as defined by the trade;
  • Resolving Trade specific & process related issues and breakdowns on site & at satellites focusing on electrical issues;
  • Carry out, organize and supervise routine maintenance activities & rectification of defects in a timely manner;
  • Actively participate in the planning and execution of planned major maintenance activities, such as plant shutdowns;
  • Meet production requirements through operating the process equipment;
  • Work alongside OSC operators as required as the onsite local team representative;
  • Operating the plant when not in OSC control and Conducting local plant shut down and start up of the site and satellites when required.
  • Management of the stock of spare parts and equipment held on site and accurate stock management of the bin locations via SAP.
  • Maintaining meticulous record keeping and completing the administrative elements of the role timely and accurately (such as SAP & plant logs).
  • Ensure all work is within compliance to external standards ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO45001, GMP/GDP, FSSC22000
  • Training of apprentices and new supervisors

As the Electrical and Instrument Plant Supervisor, you already have

  • Recognised apprenticeship or Engineering qualifications, City and Guilds, NVQ or ONC standard (minimum), followed by work experience. Electrical bias strongly preferred
  • Good interpersonal & team working skills is crucial to working in a small team size.
  • Good communication and customer facing skills (in dealing with Contractors/Suppliers, Customers, Regulatory bodies, OSC operators).
  • To be able to work alone on occasions when on site and at the satellites.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in an extremely busy environment particularly during major plant turn around maintenance activities.
  • Strong communication skills across crossfunctional teams.
  • IT literate with experience of SAP and Microsoft Office programmes
