This is an extremely exciting time to be joining Leeds City Academy, one of the most rapidly improving schools within the Leeds area and county of West Yorkshire.

Role:
To contribute to the key objective by implementing the academy's strategic priorities by focussing on student behaviour and attitudes. Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Behaviour and in collaboration with the wider Positive Behaviour and Attendance Teams.


The post holder will be responsible for The Positive Behaviour Support Centre ensuring all referred students receive a full and broad diet of appropriate curriculum and reflective/restorative work.

To oversee the social and academic progress of students both before, during and after a referral into the centre, supporting them with making positive choices in relation to their behaviour to improved behaviour and outcomes for the students in this cohort.


NB:

All post-holders at the White Rose Academies Trust are responsible for improving the outcomes for learners and upholding the ethos of the academies.

Keeping Children Safe in Education and the guidance for Safer Working Practices directs the work of every adult working at or associated with White Rose Academies Trust.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for ensuring the quality of education and efficient administration and running of the provision, personalising the offer of the centre on a student by student basis.
  • To implement all protocols and systems as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
  • To work as part of the core Safeguarding Team.
  • To complete training in Team Teach to support with deescalation across the academy.
  • To work closely with the wider Behaviour Team to ensure early identification of students who are finding selfregulation of their own behaviour challenging and who may be referred into the Positive Behaviour Support Centre (PBSC).
  • To establish positive and supportive relationships with identified students in attempt to reshape their behaviour choices through reflective and restorative practice enabling them to stay in mainstream lessons.
  • To coordinate referrals in to the PBSC, agreeing expected length of referral and bespoke support package with all stakeholders.
  • To uphold expected standards in all areas of work within the PBSC.
  • To ensure all students' needs are met, guaranteeing they receive the support needed to successfully modify their behaviour to enable them to transition back into mainstream lessons.
  • To ensure students are provided with regular and meaningful opportunities to reflect on their behaviour and attitudes, monitoring and reshaping activities where possible to support students' reshaping their thinking.
