£11.50p/h (Annual equivalent of £23,920 based on a 40hr working week)


We are seeking to recruit a committed and reliable Activities Coordinator to join our team at Penmount Grange


Westheath Care Homes (Staffing) Ltd provides care staff to five care homes owned and operated by a private company they are located in Bodmin, Lanivet, Lewannick (Nr Launceston) and Bude area.

All of which have obtained and maintained a 'Good' CQC rating.


We provide high standards of person-centred care to a wide range of elderly and disabled people from St Austell on the South coast to Bude on the North coast with a dedicated team of Care assistants and a strong team of experienced managers that have a high number of years in working in care.

An interview, references and an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out by the company on you prior to final confirmation of a job offer (this will be paid for by the company - but may be repaid to the company should you leave within a 3 month period), you will be enrolled into our induction programme this will be followed by shadow shifts, enabling you to become confident in your new role


About you;


Must have previous experience, be able to use own initiative, good communication skills, be flexible but organised with managing own workload, have a natural ability to engage an include people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Have an enthusiastic person-centred approach with a genuine passion for improving people's lives.


Objectives of the job:


To engage stimulate and assist the residents to create and facilitate a variety of activities that are tailored to meet their own individual interests and preferences.


Organise activities that are tailored to the needs and abilities of individuals as well as group activities that will bring individuals together.


Liaise and consult with staff and relatives regarding the care of residents and particular activities that may be beneficial and stimulating.


Ensure the residents take part in:
Arts and crafts

Games

Jigsaws

Singing and dancing

Bingo

Sensory and relaxation

Exercise

Celebrations, birthdays and memorable events

Reminiscence

And much more


Key Requirements

  • Kind, caring and compassionate in nature
  • Enthusiastic and committed to making a positive contribution to the people who we care for
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as own initiative when required
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with residents and others
  • Experience in a care setting, specifically with elderly and dementia
  • Adhere to the company policies and procedures
In return, you can expect competitive rates of pay, a minimum number of contracted hours per week and an equivalent to 6 weeks of annual leave per employment year (this will be your weekly contracted hours x 6)
