Due to their continued success, we're looking for a Head of Shipping & Logistics to join in supporting the growth of the business.

As the Head of Shipping & Logistics, you will spearhead interactions with internal and external stakeholders and 3PLs, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient transport of domestic and international shipments for our clients.
Your role involves providing clear and proactive cross-departmental and stakeholder communication to uphold compliance with shipping and logístical requirements for import and export.
You will also lead in client order deliveries and receipt processes, managing departmental stock and consumables, including -20C cold store maintenance and dry ice handling.
Additionally, take charge of creating and maintaining shipment trackers and KPIs for the shipping and logistics team, with a specific focus on the management and oversight of controlled substance shipments.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the team, together with overseeing team operations, directing and structuring tasks.
- Manage and supervise team tasks/responsibilities.
- Lead the maintenance and updating of shipment trackers, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and measure KPIs, providing comprehensive monthly reports to management.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee and prioritise the receipt of shipment requests, expertly identifying transportation requirements.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation and submission of customs documentation.
- Arrange shipments via 3PL portals, guaranteeing precise data entry.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and local policies, actively identifying areas for improvement.
- Take a leadership role in client meetings, ensuring thorough communication and understanding of transport requirements.
- Lead the building of packaging boxes, handling dry ice, and expertly preparing goods for transport.
- Manage cold stores, with a focus on monitoring and replenishing shipping consumables such as packaging boxes and dry ice.
About you:
- Indepth understanding of international customs procedures.
- Must hold a degree or equivalent in a related field or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position.
- Proven experience in managing controlled substance shipments (dispatch and receipt).
- Exceptional communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration and leadership.
- Proficient in time and priority management, showcasing organisational skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to excel under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Wellversed in using the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
