Description

Job Purpose:

Plan and execute efficient & effective physical testing for the development verification of all body systems and commodities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Support/Execute component, system & vehicle tests
Write/Archive test reports & support raising of any deviations required
Support outsourced testing (liaise with suppliers, support component procurement, review test planning & manage test method specification)
Communicate and present test results & support technical reviews
Raise ECMS concerns where necessary to effect engineering change
Develop corrective solutions for complex problems
Support Design reviews from target settings through development of production parts
Source / Fabricate preprototype parts
Participate in benchmarking activities to support design & target setting
Design, build & manage test rigs and bucks
Update current test procedures and/or write new test procedures
Actively support workshop management and 5S including equipment and consumables

Qualification & Experience:

Experienced in a 'handson' engineering workshop or testing environment
Previous responsibility for developing, testing and/or validating component and system designs
Proven experience in engineering problem resolution

Behaviours:

Ability to manage multiple demands on time & priorities

- 'Hands-on' Technical skills (e.g. assembly, fabrication, welding)

Excellent problemsolving skills and a flexible and pragmatic approach to technical or timing challenges
Proactive approach to workshop management & 5S
