The Audit and Risk Recruitment Company are working with a market leader in small scale construction. This family-run business is seeking an experienced Senior Internal Auditor or Audit Manager to help build out a new team and the creationof their audit universe and charter.

The role will assist in developing the internal audit manual and lead on several elements of the plan's delivery.


The role will cover:


  • Working alongside Head of Risk and Internal Audit to deliver the internal audit programme to a high quality.
  • Effectively evaluate the key risks, the current controls, known gaps, potential risk impacts and agreeing remediation plans and ensure this is accurately reported.
  • Planning of various internal audits from initial conversations with the business, to fieldwork, to reporting of the draft findings and proposed actions to the business.
  • Delivering the internal audit plan in line with preset deadlines.
  • Reporting on to the Internal Audit function and exposure to the Audit Committee/ Board.
  • Being a key decision maker on residual risk including and evaluating whether the evidence presented to mitigate the risk is sufficient.

About you:


  • Experience with stakeholder management and collaboration with all areas of the business.
  • Strong attention to detail problem solving skills.
  • Proactive and pragmatic attitude to work.
  • Previous line management responsibilities.
  • Financial and operational audit experience (Ideally ACA / ACCA / CA qualified)
