Description

Business Support Officer, Affordable Housing Grant:

Closing date : 03/04/23

A bit about the role
:

Working with the Director's Executive Assistant, you will play a key role supporting the Affordable Housing Grants team to work effectively and efficiently, helping to set up better ways of working and support our engagement with our external partners (Housing Associations, Local Authorities and others).

We have ambitious plans to invest the £7.4bn Affordable Housing Programme, to deliver up to 130,000 affordable homes across the country in the next few years and great communication across our teams, and with external partners is critical to this success.

The role covers all of England meaning you will be working closely with all the Affordable Housing Grants sub-teams based across the country, providing support remotely through Microsoft Teams and occasionally in our offices throughout England.

We believe in delivering a first-class customer service, resolving delivery issues informally wherever possible, and taking an innovative and creative approach to building more affordable housing.

The Affordable Housing Grants team culture is about working in a collaborative and flexible way, valuing diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making.

This also helps us manage risks and solve problems within the team.

This is your chance to help us shape and implement an approach that recognises everyone's contribution and improves communication across the teams and with external partners.

If you enjoy working in a fast paced, high performing team with a strong social purpose to build more affordable homes then we'd like to hear from you.

A bit about you

Whilst the focus of the team's day job is to increase the delivery of affordable homes we are looking for a confident self starter to help us to deliver first class customer service not only to our stakeholders but across the AHG sub-teams.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as collaboration with the sub-teams within Affordable Housing Grants and the wider agency is essential.

You will be used to working on multiple tasks at the same time, sometimes working at pace and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

What we offer...

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are totally committed to flexible working.

We'll support you, wherever possible, so that you don't miss out on what truly matters to you.

If you do ever need a little bit of extra help we have a great employee assistance programme, financial well-being support and access to loads of great discounts with leading high street names.

Our range of network groups are also there to support you to truly be yourself at work and play a key role in helping shape our future.

If you are a member of a professional body we'll pay for your membership and once you get your top of the range digital kit you'll be good to go in one of our great offices.

Who are we?
We are the Government's national housing agency.

Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues - meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government's ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year.

We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live.

Within the next few years, we will have invested over £27 billion across our programmes.

To deliver against these aims we're building a different kind of public service - join us to help make this happen.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community.

We are all hybrid working at the moment spending some of our time working from home and some based at our offices which are spread across England.

The wellbeing of our colleagues remains one of our top priorities.
