An ambitious Junior Asset Valuer is needed to join the team at this leading surplus solutions company based in Leeds.


You will be working within the Valuations Department, based in Leeds, providing valuation services to a range of clients, including Corporates, for example, Mars, P & G, and Mondelez.

In addition to Leasing and Finance Companies. The valuations will be used for a range of reasons, including financial planning, restructuring / closures, and financing.


During the past three fiscal years, the company has conducted over 1,823,000 online transactions, generating $2.1 billion in gross merchandise volume, achieving a compound annual growth rate of 11.

About the Role
The role will be working on valuation instructions covering primarily machinery and equipment, in addition to inventory.

The analysis will include investigation and analysis of new / replacement costs, market data for used equipment prices, maintenance andadditional points which may impact the valuation of the asset.


The role will be primarily working from the Leeds office; however, this will require visiting Company locations across the UK (and as you grow and develop, may include Europe).


Within the initial training period, you would be working in conjunction with an experienced valuer in addition to possibly working independently on smaller valuations on a desktop basis with guidance provided.


For Company visits, the aim is to be able to independently schedule assets within a 12-month period, (which may be part of an overall site team).

Their expectation would be within 12-18 months.

You would be working independently on projects under the guidanceof a Manager who would provide you with ongoing guidance and support....


ASA Qualification
In addition to ongoing training as part of your role, their work is adhering to valuation standards. Professional qualifications will be supported to help support professional development - utilising the ASA.


They expect you to work through the ASA syllabus with a view to taking ME201 and M202 within 24 months of joining (And ME203 and 204 within the following 18 months).


Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake and assist other valuers in completing machinery and equipment appraisals in a wide range of industry sectors, including Leasing, Asset Based Lending
  • Corporate Valuations for business planning / disposal
  • Restructuring
  • Valuations are completed on either a desktop basis or require inspection, which involves attending the facility, which will allow physical inspection of the asset in addition to data gathering
  • As part of the valuation exercise, you will be expected to gather the information required to complete the valuation
  • Contact with client personnel
- good interpersonal skills and time management is required to ensure you communicate effectively requirements

  • Work to the desired deadline; this may involve additional working hours to meet deadlines

Desirable Experience:


  • It is preferable that the successful applicant will have an interest in machinery and process engineering, although this is not essential as there will be plenty of opportunities for the successful applicant to see and experience a wide range of manufacturingprocesses
  • The ability to speak an additional language is preferable but not essential

Required Experience:


  • Have a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint products

Required Skills:


  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and graphic communication skills
  • Good communicator to both colleagues and clients
  • Work to meet time deadlines
  • Clean Driving License
