About the School:

After a visit from Ofsted in October 2017, the academy maintained its 'Good' grading in all aspects of the inspection framework.
About the role:
We need someone with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record in improving attendance.
This role will suit somebody with ambitions to develop their career and their will be development opportunities working alongside members of SLT and the opportunity to line manage.
We will consider applicants form a range of education backgrounds, what is more important is your belief that all young people, regardless of their background, have the ability to achieve the very best.
Main duties will include:
- Monitor attendance and assist in promoting good attendance with specific groups of students.
- Engage with parents in the promotion of good attendance.
- Meet regularly with Pastoral Leads to oversee pupil's attendance and discuss individual students causing concern.
- Manage the case load of more complex and demanding attendance/punctuality concerns and welfare issues referred by Pastoral Leads.
- Carry out initial assessments of the young person and family in order to plan appropriate intervention. Ensuring records for these cases are kept up to date.
- Develop provision of support for parents, for example, those who are struggling with their skills to parent their children.
What we would like from you;
- To be a team player.
- To have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Minimum of A-C grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
- To be firm but approachable and have excellent people skills.
- To be resilient in following the academy attendance policy.
- A fundamental belief in the power of education to enable pupils to achieve anything they set their minds to.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
