About our client

Our client, a successful mid-market private equity fund are currently looking to hire a Portfolio Talent Director in to their well-established team.

The fund, which is recognised as one of the UKs most active investors, have a broad UK based portfolio coveringmultiple industries.

Although predominately majority holders, they often vary their strategy whilst aiming towards a target of investing £400m per year. The fund has, to date, supported more than 500 management teams.

Historically being run very independently,they have a down to earth and modern culture, really valuing both their internal and external relationships.


What the job involves

As the Portfolio Talent Director you will immediately be afforded plenty of responsibility with the opportunity to really mould and develop the position as you see fit.

The role will cover multiple areas including network management, search and talent advisory
- all geared towards the portfolio. Initially building a strong network of CFOs and helping to implement a CRM system, you will then lead on appointing into the portfolio throughout different stages of the deal alongside performing multiple talent developmentand advisory tasks. The fund sees its CFO network as pivotal and real value add to the portfolio. The ideal profile would therefore be an experienced Executive Search professional with a track of placing CFOs into PE / VC backed firms.

  • Develop a network of highcalibre CFO's to enable introductions where relevant to portfolio companies
  • Working closely alongside senior stakeholders to define a portfolio talent management strategy
  • Implementation of an internal CRM system to assist in centralising the funds network
  • Development of the talent management function ensuring consistency, creativity and quality across the portfolio companies
  • Conducting market intelligence regarding talent, people development and hiring needs
  • Build strong relationships with top tier boutique and global executive search firms

Who we are looking for:


  • Significant experience working as an executive search professional with a record of successful appointments at CFO level
  • Knowledge of the private equity portfolio sector would be advantageous
  • Extensive interviewing, assessment and referencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills at senior levels
  • Previous experience of using a CRM / ATS system would be advantageous
