JOB TITLE - PARTICIPANT INTERVENTION WORKER
SALARY £21,000 - £23,000

OUTLINE OF PROGRAMME
The X-Cite is a youth employability programme part-funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.
The programme offers access to training, qualifications and work experience/placements, as well as voluntary opportunities to bring young people closer to the labour market.
Your role as a Participant Intervention Worker will be,
- Engaging, inspiring, assessing, and supporting participants, all of whom must be eligible for the programme, e.g within the NEET (Young People Not in Education, Employment or Training category.
- Develop employability skills through the delivery of person-centred preparation throughout the X-Cite 'Hub and Spoke' partners venues and delivery sites; and by linking them into appropriate services.
- Being an integral part of the X-Cite Delivery Team, supporting and administering the client engagement and employability support service and its volunteers as well as working with wider employability associated projects that are active in the designated delivery access points.
- Managing local volunteers and maintaining administration systems required to ensure maximum social impact and quality of service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client focused
- Undertake a X-Cite 'Employability Assessment ' with all eligible participants to assess job readiness and develop an action plan to identify and guide all basic skills training and job search activity
- Develop and deliver job-related employability support training, work trial or volunteer related.
c Focus participants on CV development and support the development of work preparation workshops
d. Monitor clients progress against agreed individual action plans
e. Provide support and informal mentoring
f. Analyse results and progress through regular reviews and adjust Individual Development Plans accordingly to reflect progress.

Provide support and guidance, including at unsocial hours:
evenings and weekends through agreed pre-arranged time scale with the project participants.
- Signpost participants to specialist services to overcome barriers to work/ employability highlighted by their 'Employability Assessment', (e.g., drugs/ alcohol, housing, health, Benefits and financial exclusion)
- Ensure all information on project participants interested in work is available on the X-Cite Client Tracking System, including 'Pen Pics' (person profiles),CVs, enrolment forms and ID information so that project participants can be promoted to employers and can start work when a suitable post/opportunity is identified
- When work trials/work experience placements are confirmed, support the participant client to start work, maintaining supportive contact and identify/ remedy potential problems where possible, keeping the Employer Engagement Worker informed of any issue which may impact on job performance
- Support the 'job matching' process to help find the 'right job for the right young person', maximising the chances of success with each placement
Project promotion and delivery
- Inform eligible clients of all opportunities available through X-Cite including: inductions, training, job search, volunteering opportunities, work trials/work experience placements/ and Transitional Employment options, including and sessional and regular work
- Circulate X-Cite service information to attract/ engage and recruit eligible clients
- Be an ongoing point of contact for participants looking for work and deal with enquiries from other agencies
- Build strong relationships with other agencies so NEET project participants can access advice (in particular welfare benefit information)
- Ensure training venues have operational facilities, including IT, and are accessible and welcoming.
- Keep vigilant for opportunities to secure volunteering opportunities/work trials/work experience placements, and provide useful contacts for developing such opportunities to the Employer Engagement Worker
- Routinely utilise and maintain contact databases of NEET service users and agencies
