The Mercure St Helens are recruiting for a Full Time and a Part Time Night Porter to join our great team.

To have worked in a hotel or accommodation services business.

Flexibility

- to enjoy working night shifts, seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends.

Follow hygiene and cleanliness standards to ensure the Hotel is kept clean and tidy.

The Job:

To clean public areas

- reception, bar, restaurant and toilets, and back of house areas ensuring they meet the hotel standards.

To set up conference rooms following the instructions and standards on the conference booking sheet.
Have a visible presence within the hotel to ensure that all customers request and queries are responded to promptly and effectively.
Deal with guest queries and complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
Conduct fire and floor walks to ensure guest security.
Served drinks from the bar after hours
To work closely with the hotels management team to ensure compliance with all hygiene and health and safety programmes.
To assist in the smooth running of the food and beverage and Front Office departments during your shift.
To ensure the safety and security of the hotel is maintained during the silent hours
Receiving, welcoming and registering night/late arrivals
Having a complete understanding of all aspects of night audit procedures, posting charges to daily accounts, night audit cut off, banking procedure, daily business control, daily report analysis and fire emergency procedure.
Assisting in other areas whenever required as business demands
Achieve positive outcomes from Guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
Assist Guests with luggage and other requests, as necessary
Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times
Collect room service/ breakfast cards
Attend appropriate training courses, when required, and assist with the Night Team's training and development efforts
Demonstrate current knowledge of hotel products, service, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area

The Mercure St Helens Hotel is a beautiful 84 bedroom hotel located in St Helens Town centre with excellent transport links.

The hotel has 5 Meeting and Event rooms which can accommodate up to 250 delegates. The Mercure St Helens is the spot for a relaxing break. The hotel has a heated indoor pool, sauna and a modern fitness centre. Restaurant 92 and Bar serve international dishes and a great selection of wines. This mid-scale hotel is a great place for business visitors as well as for leisure travellers.
