WHAT TO EXPECT
We are currently hiring for an Emissions Systems Functional Design Lead to join us here at JLR.
In the role, you will be responsible for developing system engineering capabilities in the functional design layer (logical domain) and will support the powerpack team on the system layer.
You will need to lead a team of engineers on problem resolution/planning and will also be responsible for designing Powertrain comm sets for given programmes, sharing technical concepts, and discussing these concepts with key stakeholders across the business.
You will also be responsible for building and owning the generic system artifacts for new feature and capability for Powertrain propulsion concepts in the xHEV space, ensuring they are legally compliant, meet customer attribute expectations, and are competitive in the current market.
Some of these artifacts are (but not limited to) customer requirements mapping, feature/capability definition, Use case analysis, Logical architecture diagram, Functional Failure Analysis, generic functional requirements cascade, test case mapping, target generation and issue resolution for JLR Powerpacks.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Develop the businesses system engineering and knowledge in Aftertreatment and Gas-Path Systems.
- Develop and govern requirements capture, MBSE model build, requirements cascade, FFA, standards & DVP for JLR Powerpacks.
- Chair technical reviews and AT/GP forums and resolve complex cross functional issues.
- Ensure FMEA, technical drawings, feature statement of intent and other such requirements are in line with JLR standards, are compatible and feasible, and ensure that all team members do the same.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have significant technical knowledge and work experience, specifically in aftertreatment, gaspath, and emissions.
You will also be required to have experience of delivering within a programme, as well as experience working with calibration and control propulsion systems.
Essential:
- Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment ideally within the Automotive Sector
- Relevant experience of working in Propulsion/Powertrain Engineering in Emissions control, Aftertreatment & Gas-Path Systems.
- Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
- Relevant experience in development of electrified propulsion system as MHEV, PHEV and BEV
