As part of this ambition we are investigating all options to improve and expand our renewable energy generation, including through deploying solar PV and potentially battery storage.

We are already the largest producer of renewable energy in the UK water industry and have committed to our customers to increase year-on-year the renewable energy we produce.

These are exciting opportunities to contribute to the solar PV and storage programme within Thames Water Ventures Renewable Energy Team.


What you will be doing?:


  • Proactively work with Thames Water and third parties to identify and release potential value on Thames Water and thirdparty land.
  • Development pipeline plans, including securing necessary internal and external resources to manage the delivery of the pipeline.
  • Evaluation of project feasibility, based on key project parameters (yield, CAPEX, OPEX and expected electricity prices) continuous optimisation of project performance in close cooperation with our engineering team.
  • Ensuring Health, Safety and Environment compliance with requirements.
  • Progress and grow a solar pipeline by identifying, screening and developing high quality and safe projects across the Thames Water estate;
  • A clear approach to programme management across the pipeline to ensure that screening, development and construction are managed in a structured and systematic way and that risk is transparent and effectively managed;
  • Proactively work with Thames Water and third parties to identify and release potential value on TW and third party land;
  • Contribute to studies to understand the impact of floating solar systems on raw drinking water reservoirs;
  • Work collaboratively across the business to build exceptional stakeholder relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to drive down risks.

What you will bring to the role?
Ideally possess a Professional qualification in engineering
Have excellent knowledge of processes required to identify, develop and deliver renewable energy schemes from inception to delivery.

As part of your role, you'll be required to participate in a rota to provideCustomer Incident Support, as requested by the Company from time to time.

This may be by supporting our customers on the frontline as an Ambassador or being part of the team managing the incident as a Control Tower Lead.
