AVIATION OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
The London Heliport, the capital's only licensed heliport, is seeking to recruit a full-time Operations Coordinator working independently within an interdependent team comprising of Air Traffic Services, Rescue & Firefighting services and the Operations department.
Located on the River Thames at Battersea in South West London the London Heliport has been operating for over 60 years providing access to Central London for VVIP passengers & emergency services.
Working as part of the small friendly operations team you will be the first point of contact and public face of the London Heliport.
You will need exceptional customer service skills ensuring high professionalism and customer confidentiality.You should be highly proficient in written and spoken English and have the initiative to be able to multi task and to prioritise workloads in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for:- Managing the daily running of the flight programme to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in a high paced & constantly changing environment. Liaison with customer-operators, their aircrew and support staff. Acceptance and processing of all flight bookings.
- Front of House visitor reception duties for our VVIP customers including passenger check in, flight information, serving refreshments and maintaining cleanliness of facilities. Secure handover of passengers and luggage ensuring airside safety at all times.
- Liaison with external regulating agencies including coordination of preflight notification to UK border agencies for international flights
- Daily administration tasks including collating & recording of statistical information on a daily basis, customer invoicing & maintenance of stocks and supplies.
- Playing your role in the provision of a safetymanaged, bestpractice working environment using an online SMS system.
- First Aid care and emergency response (training provided) as part of the Emergency Response Team.
The role is salaried and involves a flexible shift pattern to cover the operational hours and staffing needs of the London Heliport hours per week plus overtime.
There is no on-call requirement.
Regular weekend working (usually averaging one weekend per month plus special events) and occasional public holidays. Annual Leave is accrued pro-rata.
The salary is £26,000 pa. rising to £28,000 after a six month probationary period.
