University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust are pleased to offer this fixed term position for a Clinical Fellow to join the Cardiology team at the Bristol Heart Institute.

The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of Cardiology. The post will be focussed on service provision, with out of hours and on-call duties negotiable. There will also be an opportunity to work in the new Cardiology same day emergency care unit.

The BHI is a state-of-the art £57m centre dedicated to cardiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac imaging and cardiovascular research.

The Department of Cardiology provides a secondary and tertiary service for Bristol and the surrounding area, and the facility includes four catheterisation laboratories and a hybrid catheter laboratory/surgical theatre.

The BHI provides the 24/7 primary angioplasty service for the immediate catchment and the wider network.

Outpatient clinics for general cardiology as well as specialised clinics including heart failure, valvular heart disease, electrophysiology (EP), intervention and Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) take place in the BHI.

A consultant led, post-take cardiology ward round is provided for all emergency admissions with a cardiac problem.

This is a fixed term post based in the Bristol Heart Institute with potential for extension beyond 12 months. Opportunities to rotate into the BRI/Weston can be discussed if successful.

The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of Cardiology. The post will be focussed on service provision, with out of hours and on-call duties negotiable.

The post holders will join a team of 7 FY1s and 3 IMT trainees who are supervised by a speciality doctor and an associate specialist on the cardiology wards in the Bristol Heart Institute.
