Housing Support Officer

We are seeking Housing Support Officers to work with clients to combat homelessness, poverty, and marginalisation across East Sussex.


Position:
Housing Support Officer (Co-located) - 3 positions available (1 x Rother Council, 2 x Children's Services)


Location:
East Sussex, roles available at Polegate and St Leonard's


Salary:
£23,832 PLUS £1,218 car allowance per annum, pro rata


Hours: 37 hours per week


Closing Date: 8th March 2023


About the Role


As Housing Support Officer, you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is 'combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.

'

You will collaborate with clients to identify housing-related support needs, completing risk assessments and support plans.

You will work with key stakeholders within Housing, Health & Social Care, Probation Services, and other community programmes, forgingpartnerships to deliver client-centred support.

You will need to provide clients with practical support, helping them to manage tenancies, and helping with access to work, volunteering, and education opportunities.

The Housing Support Officer will work in close partnership with either Rother District Council or Children's Services.


You will also be required to attend training and development sessions, deliver small group work/workshop sessions and carry out the necessary administration and monitoring duties required for the role.


About You


To be successful in the role of Housing Support Officer you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of the organisation.

Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring with you include:


  • Experience of working with vulnerable clients in the community
  • Experience of working in partnership with other agencies
  • Experience of creating support plans with clients and setting attainable goals
  • Experience of managing a client caseload and writing accurate case notes and reports
  • Knowledge of safeguarding issues in relation to adults and children


Please note that access to a car and the ability to attend/provide face-to-face support across East Sussex is required for this role.
