George Eliot NHS Trust wishes to appoint a Senior Specialist for Urology, to be based at the George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton.

The Urology Department is made up of 4.7 Consultants, Middle Grade Doctors, and a supporting team of 3.5 Clinical Nurse Specialists.

The main role will be to cover the elective theatres and clinics of consultants at an independent level and conduct procedures in Urology Diagnostic and treatment centre supported by the CNS team and Registrars


It is to be noted that some of these like robotics are not yet in place, but a business case is in motion and expected that robotic urology will form part of the service offering in the future.

This may be at GEH site or within the regional urology area networks.


Examples of possibilities include:

  • Diagnostics and oncological surgery which includes renal robotic surgery and MRI -TRUS fusion prostate biopsy service.
  • Functional Urology including Urodynamics and Botox
  • Clinical Informatics / Digital Health
  • Day Case Holmium Laser / REZUM / UroLIFT service
