Account Manager-Automotive manufacturing

Role overview:
Leading the day-to-day commercial liaison with customer on all current business. To support necessary activities for new business acquisition, including being aware of future vehicle plans and potential business opportunities. To lead assigned quotationactivities, submissions, negotiations, and order progress from the customer. To contribute to regular report required by the company.

This role is based in Wolverhampton.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and using data to help ensure current customer accounts are effectively managed in all aspects (price agreements, cost movement recovery, engineering changes, claims etc)
  • Preparation of customer planning data, such as volumes and projects cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company quality, environmental and safety standards
  • Research & collate customer & competitor intelligence utilising the internet and other sources.
  • Management of Internal opportunity reporting and supply data for business planning purposes
  • Manage and track Customer enquiries, KPI track quotation timings.
  • Ensuring customer agreements and procedures are followed correctly.
  • Communicate effectively all customer requirements within the internal organisation to ensure clear understanding.
  • Collate & maintain internal sales management data and contribute to preparation of relevant reporting documents (Pricing, volume, timing, Main Project List etc)
  • Download, manage and distribute all customer purchase orders.
  • Manage opportunities, update as customer enquiries evolve.
Key requirements

  • Have a proven Sales background, preferably in the automotive sector.
  • Current Driving license as travel to other sites and customer will be required when necessary.
  • Good communication skills (In English) to interact at all levels across the business, including customers, internal teamsand suppliers. Must be able to understand, interpret and act upon customer data and feedback.
  • Strong numerical acumen. Numerical reasoning and data interpretation. Must be able to compile data in a structured and logical way (Competence in SAP, MS office, excellence in Excel). Have good Commercial awareness & financial understanding.
  • Proficient communication skills. Fluent in verbal & written English. A further European language would be a benefit, but not essential
  • Logical approach to problem resolution, negotiation ,data management, reporting etc.
  • Experience in the development of automotive componentsideally to have working knowledge of metal forming and assembly techniques used by Gestamp.
  • Ability to conduct high level and complex negotiations.
