You will work closely with the Manager Psychiatry Education and Training and Director of Postgraduate Psychiatric Training to develop and deliver highly effective processes in relation to medical education.

Main duties of the job include (but are not limited to):

  • To maintain and further develop the department's databases, monitoring and producing information for annual reports and on ad hoc basis as required.
  • To take a primary role in planning, organising and running the induction programmes for trainee doctors, including overseeing tasks as required.
  • To contribute to the organisation of biannual mock CASC exams, working in liaising with members of the team and Consultant Leads, following the departments' template of the event management.
  • To take a primary role in collating and maintaining data in regards to the contract performance indicators; liaising with relevant parties to ensure that data is complete, analysing and completing reports for submission to the commissioners within the relevant timescales, and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders receive the most up to date information.
  • To contribute to the biannual organisation of choices forms/placement choices of core and higher trainees, arranging appointments for trainees to meet with their respective Training Programme Director as required, in order to finalise rotations in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:


  • To maintain and further develop the department's databases, including the Trainees database, rotation lists, mandatory training logs, trainer census database (amongst others). Monitoring and producing information for annual reports and on ad hoc basis as required.
  • To take a primary role in planning, organising and running the Induction Programmes for trainee doctors both centrally and locally at the various sites. Including overseeing the annual updating, reprinting and production of the Induction Handbooks.
  • To contribute to the annual organisation of choices forms/placement choices of core and higher trainees, arranging appointments for trainees to meet with their respective Training Programme Director as required, in order to finalise rotations in a timely manner.
  • To take a primary role in the organisation of monthly local teaching at the various sites; liaising with the respective Education Tutors in finalising and circulating the monthly programme; preparing registers and keeping attendance records, collecting and collating feedback, as well as other ad hoc duties.
  • To take a primary role in collating and maintaining data in regards to the contract performance indicators; liaising with relevant parties to ensure that data is complete, analysing and completing reports for submission to the commissioners within the relevant timescales, and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders receive the most up to date information.
  • To be familiar with the Trust's role as Local Education Provider and the Quality Management Framework. To develop and maintain data capture processes and databases to monitor quality of training programmes and to ensure good communication between trainees, trainers, educational faculty and internal and external stakeholders.
  • To maintain relationships with internal and external staff, as appropriate in dealing with queries, issues and problems relating to postgraduate medical education.
