As a Building Control Surveyor, you will provide a quality, cost effective and customer focused building regulations assurance service.

The team is responsible for building control across a diverse portfolio of projects, including brand new terminals, car parks, airline lounges, baggage facilities, and retail units, and there Is a strong pipeline of new, challenging work.

You will be responsible for providing building control assurance in complex environments for a range of projects.

As a Building Control Surveyor, you will provide a quality, cost effective and customer focused building regulations assurance service.


Working closely with he client's Solutions organisation and it's suppliers, as well as third-parties operating at the airport, LHR Building Control Services is a specialist Approved Inspector focusing on providing our assurance services in one of the UK's largest and most complex construction environments.

The team is responsible for building control across a diverse portfolio of projects, including brand new terminals, car parks, airline lounges, baggage facilities, and retail units, and there Is a strong pipeline of new, challenging work.


You will be responsible for providing building control assurance in complex environments for a range of smaller projects, and for supporting our Senior Building Control Surveyors on other major projects.

You'll provide expert advice and technical support in areas where building regulations may not apply.

You will have authority to assess & assure Building Regulations compliance and be responsible for consultation and Liaison with the Fire Authorities and other organisations within Heathrow.


Your role will involve:


  • Playing a leading building control role on projects, and supporting building control assurance for work packages of major projects, across the airport ensuring that projects consistently comply with Building Regulations, especially in the areas of structural safety, fire safety and environmental aspects.
  • Engaging regularly with project teams and other stakeholders to undertake building control assurance across preplanning, design, implementation and handover stages of a project.
  • Completing building control activities to meet prescribed performance standards, complying with Building Control's ISO 9001 Quality Management processes and systems.
  • Communicating with key stakeholders within and outside of Heathrow to ensure that service standards are maintained.
  • Provide support and advice on building control and related issues, including guiding projects and activities where Building Regulations do not apply.
  • Working within the boundaries of the building control functions set out by the DLUCLG and CICAIR Ltd, and the LHR Building Control Services operating model.

These skills are essential:


  • Surveying skills are essential.
  • Experience in nondomestic Building Control in the public and/or private sector.
  • Ideally holding full professional membership of an appropriate institution, or at least happy to follow a development plan leading to full professional membership.
  • Capable of obtaining and holding any individual licence obligations as a result of the building safety bill deemed necessary by the business.

Ideally, you'll also have:


  • Relevant professional qualifications (corporate membership) such as RICS, CABE, IStructE, CIBSE.
  • Experience of fire engineering in complex, multioccupancy buildings.
  • Extensive knowledge of the building regulations and technical aspects of construction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including negotiations

Salary:
£46,000.00-£53,000.00 per year
