Job description:


Role
We're looking for someone who can support the establishment and maintenance of data governance across the data estate.

To leverage opportunities to optimise data use and to provide assurance that TPR data is compliant with relevant law, regulations and policies.


Responsibilities

You will:

  • Champion data governance strategic and operational objectives and promote data governance excellence across TPR
  • Lead business areas through the change and transformation that is required to ensure TPR data is optimised and protected in line with law, regulation and policies
  • Support the Data Governance Lead in a program of work to manage and mitigate data risks
develop and maintain data governance policies, principles and standards and work to ensure these are embedded across the organisation

  • Provide advice and support to business stakeholders at all levels and assist them in developing data skills and governance standards within their areas
  • Design and implement data governance solutions and preventative measures and manage business owners to resolve their data governance issues

Person specification:


Essential and desirable criteria

Essential

  • Experience working within a regulated environment and capability to understand and interpret laws and regulations including UK GDPR.
  • Excellent communicating, negotiating and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively and to use own initiative to problem solve.
  • Knowledge or experience of how data is used in a business context.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Data Governance theory, principles and approaches.
  • Experience providing assurance against risks, auditing accountabilities, or working with the
  • Data Protection Officer function.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Assimilation of information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, word, power point and excel.
