Job Introduction

HMP Peterborough have an exciting opportunity for a

Prison

Education Administrator (Part Time) to join the team.
This is a part time, 16 hours per week opportunity, working 8 hours Thursday & Friday.

This role is site based, however there will be some flexibility around start and finish times as agreed with the business.


HMP/YOI Peterborough is the country's only purpose-built prison for both male and female prisoners, including a 12-place mother and baby unit.

We are committed to offering education and development programmes to provide prisoners with the skills required to enter employment on release, so reducing the chances of further offending.


About the Education Department


The Education Department at HMP Peterborough is instrumental in ensuring the prison delivers a quality education provision, helping prisoners to gain new skills and knowledge which will aid employability opportunities upon release, and in turn lower the risk of reoffending.

The Education Department houses 6 classrooms, a library, employability area and a distant learning suite, and offers an array of classes/courses such as English, maths, I.T, ESOL, Art, along with a range of vocational qualifications.


What You'll Do

  • Scheduling of classroom timetables
  • Ensuring students are attending classes, and chasing up where necessary
  • Ensure students are paid for attending classes
  • Inputting data onto the system
  • Minute taking in meetings
  • Produce accurate, timely, weekly, monthly and on an adhoc basis, reports in specific formats to specified deadlines, as required by the management team.
  • Maintain all appropriate records and documentation.
  • Assist in the production of management information, regular reports, establish trends and patterns from information received.
  • Monitor and oversee all filing and ensure that record systems are kept uptodate and stored securely.
  • Responsible for all administrative duties as required by the Manager, ensuring the function is run efficiently and cost effectively when performing work as required and planned.
  • To work closely and cooperate with colleagues in other areas to ensure the safe and smooth running of the prison.
  • Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
