Sunfield Specialist School and Children's Home is located in the beautiful Clent Hills, West Midlands. Sunfield provides innovative and experiential education, developed out of the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, William Morris and John Ruskin and supports young people years) with complex learning needs, including autism and PDA.


Music Therapist (Part-time)
16 hours, 52 weeks

Salary Range:
£34,530 - £38,191_


Actual Salary Range:
£13,761 - £16,440**_

- **A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Music Therapist at Sunfield Specialist School, to work with students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and complex needs, to achieve outcomes stated in their EHC Plans. We are looking for a Music Therapist with Nordoff-Robbins or Anthroposophical background, to work with students ranging from 6 to 19 years old, this would be desirable but not essential.


We are looking for a passionate and skilful Music Therapist that provides, guides and supports our students with opportunities for engagement in active music-making, enabling them to express themselves and go beyond what people assume they could do, both demonstrating and experiencing their capacities for expression and interaction.


  • To assess students, plan and deliver individual or group music therapy sessions according to their individual needs and EHCP requirements
  • To be part of an ongoing assessment of students' learning needs and to make reasonable adjustments as required, minimising barriers to learning and achievement
  • Positively role model behaviours and attitudes.
  • Work closely with the music teacher to provide all round music therapy provision at Sunfield
  • Contribute and e part of the preparations of Assemblies and Festivals
  • To complete all the required administration tasks as part of the role such as end of term reports, and EHCP reports
