Tezlom are looking for experienced/specialist support workers for a well-established supported living accommodation in Bradford. This accommodation is made up of 4 rooms.
They have a fantastic reputation and are a dedicated to ensuring our young people are safe and healthy and able to make a positive contribution and realise their full potential through encouraging and prompting independence.
The young people we support are aged 9-15 years and have varying degrees or autism and EBD.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work close with the team leader and service manager to ensure the children's home provides high quality care and support.
- Take part in the care and support planning for the children living in the home. Ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Provide basic care and support for children, including personal care, meal prep and support with household tasks.
- Supporting the children to develop their social and emotional wellbeing and develop independent living skills.
- Working with others to ensure that the home is maintained to a high standard.
- Monitor and evaluate progress and development of children living in the home, recording observations and providing feedback to the team leader or service manager.
- Engage in creative activities and play with the children to promote their physical, social and intellectual development.
- Implement routines, boundaries, and consequences appropriately and consistently in line with the home policies and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Level 3 qualification in health, childcare or social care, or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by children and young people in care, and the ability to develop positive relationships with them.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take part in discussions regarding the development of the children.
- Good communication, the ability to work with families and other professionals.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, Understanding the legislation guidance and good practice that support the highquality care in the children's home.
- Being able to work flexibly and to work shifts within a rota system.
