A quick look at the role.


In this role you will proactively co-ordinate and supervise the day to day reception, treatment and processing of all incoming wastes through Wednesbury's hazardous waste treatment plant.

Paramount to the role is that waste is assessed and handled in anapproved manner ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance are always met whilst demonstrating continuous improvement in productivity, plant capacity availability and the quality of materials produced.

  • Visually Lead and improve the health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Ensure all waste accepted meets defined standards within pre acceptance and the Environmental Permit. Thus ensuring all compliance standards of process outputs is met.
  • Control waste flows through the plant to avoid delays and backlogs.
  • Ensure that all waste is handled, stored, treated safely and compliantly in a timely manner.
  • Plan and prioritise the day to day activities of the Treatment Plant, adapting when necessary to meet fluctuations in daily service level to provide excellent customer service
  • Responsible for making sure all treatment reactions are controlled, monitored and effective whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processing operations.
  • Ensure Non Conformance reports raised are investigated and remedial action taken. Causation identified and reported back for non conformance.
  • Maintain the accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation and records in line with Quality Management Systems.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all areas and ensure any housekeeping activities are carried out in an effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain an inventory to ensure that plant consumables are sufficiently controlled stocked in line with company purchasing policy.
  • Control arrivals of all vehicles accessing site, ensuring adherence to site rules.

Requirements:


Here's what we require:


  • Experience in the chemical industry. > 2 years.


  • IT literate

  • Using MS Office.
  • Knowledge & understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical hazardous waste processing environment would be ideal.
  • Comprehensive understanding of chemical process safety.
  • Analytical with the ability to measure & monitor data and take appropriate action.
  • Leadership and motivational skills.
  • Organised with the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, verbally and written.
