About the role

This is an opportunity to contribute to a service which provides housing solutions and positive outcomes to the residents and customers of West Northamptonshire Council in housing need.


You will be primarily supporting the two rural offices of Daventry and South Northants with the ability to support the Northampton office when required.

This is a proactive role which focuses on providing a full range of business support for the Housing Options Service to support the residents and customers of West Northamptonshire Council.

What will you be doing?
You will be providing business support to the Housing Solutions Team.

The varied responsibilities include but are not limited to:

organising and providing secretarial support to meetings, assisting with customer enquiries via all methods such as mailboxes, telephone and in person.

You will be providing financial support with obtaining quotes, raising orders, checking invoices and receipting goods ready for payment. Also, supporting the temporary accommodation function.

It would be advantageous but not essential to have some experience or knowledge of service operation for public sector working in the following areas:

  • Homelessness
  • Social housing registers
  • Temporary accommodation
About you

If you are organised and prefer to have a wide range of responsibilities then this role would be an excellent opportunity for you.


Effective communication skills are important as you will be required to link with a range of stakeholders and support some of the most vulnerable residents in West Northamptonshire demonstrating an awareness and understanding of other people's behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
