The Role


Food Republic are looking for a capable and skilled Evening Shift Operative to work within the Evening Shift team to support with the safe and efficient receipt, storage, retrieval and dispatch of goods, to and from the warehouse.

They will work with other operatives, the Shift Supervisor, and the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth-running of the department, operating within Health and Safety, and company policies and procedures.


The Evening Shift Operative will work a total of 5 days from Sunday to Friday each week, with Saturdays off.

The working hours are from 2pm-10pm. Full training of Food Republic systems, policies, and procedures will be provided.

The key responsibilities of an Evening Shift Operative include, but are not limited to:

  • Picking and packing chilled and ambient goods
  • Basic invoice processing
  • Loading and unloading goods from delivery vans and/or lorries
  • Keeping uptodate and accurate records of any damaged, missing or faulty goods
  • Moving goods to the correct locations in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical equipment
  • Ensuring that any variances are investigated and a conclusion is reached before the end of the shift
  • Communicating with other departments within the company
  • Communicating with Food Republic suppliers and customers
  • Ensuring quality and delivery objectives are met
  • Delivering and fulfilling objectives and directions from the Shift Manager, as well as the Warehouse Manager
  • Completing all tasks in line with BRC, Health and Safety, and company policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as required

The Person
The key skills and qualities of an Evening Shift Operative include, but are not limited to:
Essential knowledge/experience

  • A flexible attitude and capable of performing well under pressure
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate their team
  • A quicklearner who can adapt to changing demands
  • Physically fit and can lift moderate to heavy weights
  • A good understanding of the English language

Desirable knowledge/experience:

  • Experience working in a warehouse
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Fluency in English
  • Driver's license
  • Forklift license
  • GCSE Maths and English (A
  • C)

Salary:
£24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
