We have opportunities available for
Mental Health Recovery Workers to join us based in
Moseley and Edgbaston, Birmingham. You will join us on a
full time, permanent basis and in return, we are offering a
competitive hourly rate of £10.15 per hour.

More about the Mental Health Recovery Worker role:
We offer some great employee benefits (after the probation period has been completed) and learning opportunities.

The contracted hours for this role are 37.5 per week and you must be flexible to work across Monday - Sunday, including public holidays from8am - 9.30pm (start and end times vary across units).

The Mental Health Recovery Worker vacancies are working day shifts only.


Key responsibilities of our Mental Health Recovery Worker:

  • Encouraging service users to contribute fully to their support plan as provided by Servol Community Services by making informed choices
  • Supporting service users with personal administration, form filling and making benefit claims as necessary
  • Maintaining daily contact with service users to check on their welfare and provide support as set out in their support plan
  • Encouraging and supporting service users to take part in day time activities of interest to them including education, physical and voluntary activities
  • Liaising with external agencies (such as CPNs, Social Workers, Community Mental Health Teams etc.)
  • Encouraging service users to feel able to contribute to the development of the service
  • Providing information and support service users on issues of personal care and food hygiene
  • Assisting and supporting service users with activities such as shopping and attending appointments
  • Where required, to prompt or administer medication to agreed standards/in line with policy and procedure, reporting any issues as outlined in policy to senior staff
  • Supporting service users to take up any involvement opportunities on offer
  • Promoting equality and diversity in your day to day work

Skills and experience required to become our Mental Health Recovery Worker:

  • Intermediate IT skills which must include Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Relevant experience of supporting vulnerable adults in a residential or day care setting
  • Relevant work experience and working knowledge of legislation and CQC key lines of enquiry
  • Effective and clear written communication skills in report writing, risk assessments and form completion
  • Able to demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude to working with people experiencing mental health conditions.
