We have a requirement for a Head of Income and Money Matters to join our team on a fixed term contract until March 2024.

As we are in the middle of cost of living crisis, we have an important role to play for our customers, this role is crucial in ensuringwe provide an excellent service and the necessary support to customers.

We are looking for a strategic leader to drive forward our service, embedding new processes and delivering the improvement plan over the next 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Maximise the collection of income and ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance for all collection and Money Matters support activities for circa 22,000 properties
  • Lead, manage and motivate a large team of income and money matters colleagues to ensure the timely collection of rental and associated monies is maintained and indebtedness is minimised
  • Establish methods of gathering detailed customer feedback about the delivery of the income and money matters services and use this to improve the customer experience
  • Improve how we use existing and new technologies to improve collection rates and reduce debt through proactive early stage arrears contact, stage automation and improved selfserve options
  • Improve access to and use of performance and service data that provides better insight around business, team and individual performance and the quality of the customer experience and supports Incommunities to achieve upper quartile performance
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to build on our existing approach to debt and tenancy sustainment advice to improve how we support our customers who are struggling with cost of living pressures
  • Review and pilot new internal and external approaches to improve our collection of former tenant arrears

About you

Requirements:


  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH) or demonstrable comprehensive housing management experience
  • Experience of successfully leading large housing teams in an income management related field
  • Extensive up to date knowledge of housing legislation, regulation, policy and practice
  • An understanding of current challenges facing the social housing sector in particular around cost of living, rents, service charges and welfare benefits
  • Experience of establishing and facilitating cross organisational working that shapes and influences the benefits of having a diverse workforce
  • Knowledge and experience of setting, monitoring and controlling budgets and demonstrating sound knowledge of value for money
