Description
We're looking for a coordinator to develop and facilitate a new network of peer support groups and one-off family events designed to help parents and children enhance their social support networks, as part of the new Family Hubs offer in Oldham.
Working in partnership with other VCSE groups and with Oldham's Parent Infant Mental Health and Early Years services, you'll work alongside volunteers with lived experience, setting up peer support groups and helping groups to form close working relationships with health colleagues.
Main Responsibilities
- Setting up and facilitating new peer support groups and oneoff events across Oldham;
- Working closely with Oldham's Family Hubs teams, the Parent Infant Mental Health service, and Health Visiting teams;
- Ensuring connectivity with other areas of Home-Start HOST, especially PIMH (Parent Infant Mental Health), Dad Matters and Play, Learn, grow to ensure maximum support for families;
- Supporting the development of referral pathways between HOST's internal services and with external services and groups including with other VCSE groups;
- Provide 1:1 support including home visits to parents as necessary to make introductions and encourage group/event attendance;
- Promote all groups and events to families and communities across Oldham, ensuring inclusion and targeted events for those who may feel excluded or find engagement difficult;
- Promote HOST externally by ensuring appropriate liaison, networking and communication with referrers, professionals, community leaders and organizations
- Undertake any other duties that may be required to discharge the role and support the organisation
