The successful applicant will be part of the Clinical Health Psychology Services (CHPS) across Essex.

We have two other established Mental Health Liaison Psychological Services in Chelmsford and Southend, where there is a network of highly motivated, experienced Clinical and Counselling Psychologist colleagues.

The applicant will be working within the CORE 24 model of Mental Health Liaison, looking to support people using the service and staff members in the team and wider hospital to consider the psychological aspects of mental and physical health.

These roles require an ability to create connections with services across physical and mental health providers and to be able to support holistic, system wide thinking.


These roles introduce psychological assessment, intervention, consultation and support to the Mental Health Liaison team, consisting of Liaison Psychiatry and Psychiatric Nurses.

These posts are part of services which have been established for several years.

These roles are welcomed by Basildon Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital and there will be opportunity for working across wards and specialty areas.

Alongside the inpatient work there are opportunities to work in outpatient clinics, as part of the CORE 24 agenda, supporting people who present with medically unexplained symptoms or complex care needs to provide a more holistic intervention route.

Regular supervision will be provided by a senior Clinical Psychologist.
