Due to ongoing service redesign, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person with healthcare experience to join the Orthopaedic Therapy Team as part of the Pre-Operative team.

The Integrated Therapy Technical Instructor role encapsulates the best parts of being a Physiotherapy Assistant and an Occupational Therapy Assistant and equips you with the skills to offer high quality, integrated care.

The role of an Integrated Therapy Technical Instructor is fundamentally about supporting the provision of therapy services within the NHS environment, ensuring optimal patient care.

They will work as part of a therapy team and under the supervision of a qualified therapist, at times carrying their own delegated caseload of patients with non-complex conditions.

This role will primarily cover the review and education of patients who are listed for orthopaedic surgery.

This involves having a working knowledge of Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and Total Hip Replacement (THR) and communicating to patients, their families and carers as required - full training will be given as required.

Pre-operative patients will be provided education and advice to prepare them for having surgery and their recovery and rehabilitation.

They will provide functional rehabilitation, exercise programmes, education, and support hospital discharges. They will also be responsible for allocated administrative and other non-clinical duties.
