Urology are looking for an Operational Co-ordinator to join the team. Working at Colchester Hospital, this is an opportunity to play an integral part in future service developments.

Band 4 developmental roles would be considered for applicants who do not currently fulfil the specification for a band 5 post.

This will be assessed as part of the interview process.


You must be a team player working in a way that encourages high performance from other staff, with the aim of maintaining efficiency within the department.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual for this position.


Your role will include being the first point of contact for escalation within the team as well as the management of the patient tracking list and clinical rotas, so as such, you need to be the kind of person who doesn't give up and is able to exhibit creative thinking.


In this role you will manage the administrative team within Urology, supporting them to move patients through their treatment pathways within appropriate timescales.

You will also encourage high performance from the staff, with the aim to maintain a high quality comprehensive administrative service.


You will work alongside the service manager and an engaged team of dedicated healthcare professionals in a fast pace and challenging environment to ensure a high quality service is provided to our patients.

  • The Operational Coordinator will take full responsibility for the day to day line management of administrative teams within their Clinical Delivery Group.
  • The Operational Coordinator will be responsible for providing Leadership to the administrative teams and ensuring that a high quality comprehensive administrative service is delivered.
  • The Operational Coordinator will be accountable for monitoring, assessing and reporting on performance within defined service areas. This will involve highlighting any issues to the Service Manager and identifying appropriate action to be taken. The Operational Coordinator will also be required to attend all relevant performance meetings with their Service Manager and will be required to deputise in their absence.
