The HR Service Centre within the People & Culture Directorate is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative individual to join the team as our Head of Business Support.


This post holder will have delegated responsibility for the overall management, performance and development of the teams providing the following services to NHS Grampian through national workforce systems - eRostering administration, Scottish Standard Time System (SSTS) and eESS (HR system) - as well as our Technical team who provides support to the wider HR Service Centre.

Direct experience of these systems is a distinct advantage.


As Head of Business Support you will play a critical role in contributing to the strategic aims of these national workforce systems.

You will be a strong and effective leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working with the Head of Payroll and reporting to the Head of the HR Service Centre you will be engaged in service improvement work and driving innovation and change across teams, working closely with stakeholders within the Directorate and the wider organisation.


You must be organised and adaptable, with a proven track record of service delivery, excellent people management skills and experience in implementation of statutory legislation, policy, terms and conditions and systems.

The ability to manage multiple teams with proven problem solving skills are required.

This is a full time permanent post and offers excellent opportunities for development and progression. The current location for this role is Westholme, Woodend Hospital site however a hybrid solution of office-based and working from home to suit both parties can be developed and agreed,
