Henderson Rehab Unit is a 20 bedded Rehabilitation Unit where we admit patients from the local acute hospitals.

We provide intensive rehabilitation for predominately older people following episodes of acute illness and injury, with the aim to ensure timely discharge.


We actively promote a multi-disciplinary model, where nursing staff work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Support Workers; ensuring the patient are kept at the centre of decision making.

The post holder must be prepared to work a variety of long days, short days, some weekends and nights and some bank holidays as this is a 24 hour, 7 day service.


As an experienced Healthcare Assistant, you will be required to undertake care and health tasks with mínimal supervision but with additional advice from more experienced team colleagues should you need it.

You will be responsible for achieving your duties which will typically be routine and require some forward planning.

You will work with other staff whilst being responsible for ensuring that the basic needs of service users are met.


You will also provide practical and therapeutic support to help deliver wrap around care that leads to best outcomes for service users.


This role has an emphasis on the following areas:
Providing, and ensuring that, a high standard of nursing care, is maintained

Monitoring and maintaining standards of care

Participating in clinical supervision and in team learning and development

Delivery of care to meet patients needs

Health promotion


Routine Tasks will involve:

Assist in carrying out planned care

Assisting patients to meet their daily care needs

Carrying out simple dressings following assessment of skin and wounds/pressure area care

Contribute to the monitoring of care

Completion of charts

Report any changes in the patients condition to more senior members of staff

Recording in the patients notes as appropriate

Assist with the induction of new staff

Respect all aspects of confidentiality
