Robert Half are currently recruiting within the Financial Services sector for school leaver with an ambition to become an accountant for a trainee accountant position within the City of London.

Role
This school leaver / trainee Accountant position is for a rapidly growing insurance company based in City of London.

You do not need any prior accounting experience just a proven keen interest to go into accounting and study the AAT.

There is a lot of scope for development and you will be taught everything from scratch.

Your primary responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

Responsible for the purchase ledger which will involve processing invoices and organising supplier payments
Perform supplier statement reconciliations periodically
Reconciling the bank accounts daily
Update and reconcile monthly credit card statements and staff expenses
Assisting in month end accounting procedures as required
Reconcile balance sheet nominal codes
Review P&L and perform trend analysis
Annually assist with preparation of tax packs and audit requests
Ad hoc projects

Profile

To be considered for this trainee accountant position:

School leaver
No accounting experience is required
GOOD academics (A's and B's)
A proven interest in starting the accounting AAT qualification
Basic word / excel skills

Salary & Benefits
£21,000 - £26,000 + benefits + a discretionary bonus (package includes study support for the AAT)

(Please note, if you have zero experience, you will not be considered for the higher salary banding. Salaries depend on experience (internships / work experience etc).
