This is a great and exciting time to join Test Valley's forward thinking and proactive housing team.

We have a number of vacancies available and we are looking for people to join our busy housing service, which focuses on preventing homelessness across the borough, working with customers in both Andover and Romsey.

We are looking for people who are dynamic, customer focused and thrive in a busy challenging front line environment.

You will have a desire to help support people who are at risk of experiencing homelessness, using a strengths based approach.

Even if you don't tick all the boxes, or have no previous experience, we want to hear from you. Your attitude and approach to customers will be the most important factor in securing one of these opportunities. Training for all of these roles will be provided.

Homeless Prevention Support Officer -37 hrs per week, fixed term until end of March 2025

Covers Andover and Romsey

Salary bracket £24, £27,122.88

A Homeless Prevention Support Officer works with single people, with complex needs, who are at risk of losing their current home and could end up rough sleeping.

You will work predominantly with single people and couples who are struggling to manage their social housing tenancies.

You will provide crisis intervention which may include support in accessing health services, welfare benefit claims, support with budgeting and accessing debt services - anything that is needed to help stop someone from losing their home.

Support will be provided by way of home visits, face to face appointments and over the phone if needed.
