Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and underwrite professional indemnity insurance proposals for Surveyors, considering the specific risks associated with the profession.
Conduct thorough risk assessments, including analysis of professional qualifications, experience, previous claims history, and the financial health of prospective clients.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Surveying industry, staying abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and potential risks.
Set premium rates and determine the terms and conditions of policies in line with company guidelines and risk appetite.
Work closely with brokers and clients to negotiate terms, provide risk management advice, and tailor insurance solutions to meet specific client needs.
Maintain accurate and uptodate records of underwritten risks, policy terms, and client interactions.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance underwriting expertise and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

Professional qualifications such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certifications are highly desirable.
Experience in professional indemnity underwriting, with detailed knowledge of the Surveying industry and an understanding of the legal and regulatory environment affecting professional indemnity insurance.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risk accurately.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, brokers, and stakeholders.
Proficient in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

£50,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
