A unique opportunity for a "high-flying" Finance Director, (FD), to join our Executive leadership team and Board.

This key appointment, affords the prospect to make a real difference, supporting the development of business strategy, and contributing to thepost covid revival and the future success of Cardiff Airport.


The Business


Cardiff Airport is an important part of the transport infrastructure in Wales and a major contributor to the local economy, supporting over 2,400 aviation-related jobs.


As the national airport for Wales, Cardiff Airport typically drives over £246m of direct economic benefits to the region every year.


The Opportunity


This represents an exceptional opportunity to assume a highly strategic, commercial, and high-profile FD role in Wales, as the Airport builds on the revival and business development plans.


Reporting to the Chief Executive (CEO), working closely with the Executive team, the FD will play a key role in developing the strategic direction of the business and evaluating plans with the Executive team.


With both the Board and Welsh Government shareholder, the FD will manage and develop funding strategies, ensuring that appropriate funding is maintained and enhanced for the business and the financing of capital expenditure projects.


As a true business partner across the organisation, the FD will develop strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring a robust financial framework, and supporting commercial and operational teams, to deliver their business objectives.


Leading on all Finance, Information Technology and Company Secretarial activities, the FD will also play a proactive role in ensuring external supplier and customer contracts are operating effectively and providing the best value and opportunities for thebusiness.


We are looking for a Team player, ideally who has experience of working at Board level managing a broad range of complex issues and stakeholders with an awareness of the requirements of a regulated environment.
