Due to continued business growth, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Maintenance Controller to join the business in a period of rapid growth.

Reporting to the Fleet Operations Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery, return and general maintenance of MJ Quinn vehicles.


The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Assist with vehicle handovers and signing in and out of vehicles
  • Inspect vehicles returned by engineers and identify any damages.
  • Inspect vehicles returned by 3rdparties
  • Carry out vehicle spot checks, identifying possible damage
  • Assist in decision making process on Third party repair or direct return of vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles are Fit for Purpose including sign writing/ racking and carry out basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Advise on status of defects reported via the Fleet app.
  • Assist with dealing with the defects reported via the defect reporting app.
  • Liaise with MJQ departments and 3rdparty suppliers in ordering new vehicles
  • Assist in the collections/deliveries of leavers vehicles
  • To fulfil each task as requested by the Fleet Operations Manager and Senior Management.
  • Developing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the Fleet Operations Manager and other departments is a key part of the role.
  • Produce all work in line with MJ Quinn standards and use best practice methods.
  • To comply with all general policies and procedures

Qualifications/ Experience Required:


Essential

  • Full and valid driving licence
  • Sound mechanical knowledge
  • Vehicle inspection experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fully flexible in terms of hours worked and duties carried out
  • Willingness to learn and attend relevant training course
  • Understanding of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • An understanding of Fleet Management
  • An understanding of Transport legislation


Relevant experience would be ideal but consideration would be given to any individual who could show they have a suitable background, a willingness to learn and be committed to complete any training required for the role.
