The Transport Planner/ Co-ordinator will take a key role delivering our client's services day to day by route efficiency of rollonoff and skip vehicles to ensure maximum productivity of drivers in order to deliver the highest level of customer service.
Your main duties will include:
- Creating an effective and efficient daily transport plan, ensuring that all customer orders are assigned to the appropriate trucks and to requested access times.
- Take accountability for any daytoday problems, liaising with drivers, customers and internal departments to achieve positive resolutions.
- Perform end of shift daily debriefs with drivers to capture and communicate specific information relative to their daily activity.
- Update internal systems thoroughly and accurately to ensure that all issues are captured, and the completed orders can be processed and billed promptly.
Key Skills:
- Good knowledge of planning and route efficiency techniques
- Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability act quickly and take action to avoid failure.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to influence drivers, customers and internal departments to achieve desired outcome.
- Excellent attention to accuracy and detail
- At least 1 years experience as a Transport Planner/ Coordinator working in a fast paced service delivery environment
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Software products
- Knowledge of Working Time and Driving Legislation
You will work 45 hours per week, shifts vary: 6am - 4pm or 8am - 6pm, with additional hours as required (Saturday rota) to maintain the safe and efficient running of the transport department.
