Cardiff City Centre - Hybrid
£25,000 - £32,000
Are you keen to be a part of an established HR team that are responsible for guiding and supporting the firms trainees as they embark on their professional journey at a Top 70 Legal Firm?
You will be responsible for providing career advice, coordinating training sessions, and facilitating seat rotation placements along with designing and implementing assessments centres and development events for our prospective and existing trainees.
Duties of Early Careers Advisor:
- Managing seat preferences and placements and being the first point of contact for all pastoral and training concerns for trainees.
- Overseeing the Early Careers website and attending marketing events including careers fairs, university presentations, virtual events, open days and arranging for representatives from our paralegal and trainees communities to attend.
- Supporting in the preparation of trainee placement reports throughout the year and other ad hoc projects.
- Supporting the HR Director with various projects on SQE and process improvements
- Manage the continual implementation of the SQE (Solicitors Qualifying Exams) any other routes into the profession for the Firm
- Engaging with our future talent in the two years prior to joining and start working with them on their professional development from the point of offer.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with schools, outreach providers and other external providers as appropriate.
- Liaise regularly with key stakeholders to ensure the apprenticeship plan is delivering for both the apprentices and the departments they sit in.
Early Careers Advisor:
- The Early Careers Advisor will ideally have previous experience of graduate recruitment and/or trainee development, preferably within a Law Firm or Professional Services setting.
- Along with possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels, it would be desirable to have an understanding of the SQE and hiring apprenticeships but this is not essential
- You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with individuals across all levels
- Able to use initiative and take a proactive approach to work.
- Presentation and delivery skills; confidence in presenting to audiences at all levels.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced agile environment.
- Well organised and has the ability to deliver projects on time and in budget.
