ABOUT THE ROLE
As Lead - Virtual Vehicle
_Digital Prototypes_) you will collaborate with the Head of Whole Vehicle Systems to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.

_Digital Prototype_) technologies and tools (FEA, CFD, etc).


Responsibilities Include:

  • Release the virtual vehicle based on the output from the digital tools to enable the vehicle to proceed to physical build. The virtual vehicle release will ensure the vehicle moves into the physical world with less issues and unknown risks. This will reduce cost of late change and improve the predictability of vehicle launch.
  • Responsible for close cross functional collaboration of all internal and Group partners meeting PEP deliverables in line with Bentley's product, quality and financial targets, satisfying Group objectives and Bentley 'Beyond 100' vision.

The Whole Vehicle Systems team is part of the Whole Vehicle Engineering Function, and are responsible for managing the product data generated through product development and using this data to deliver the most robust vehicle.

This includes bill of material management, CAD data management and analysis, feature and configuration management, and leadership of the virtual vehicle.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


The successful applicant will be an established manager with a proven ability in automotive product development, and knowledge of CAE techniques and methodology.


  • Demonstrable, extensive, experience of advanced virtual vehicle technologies
  • Experience in leading a team in virtual development of a vehicle (digital twin)
  • Expert in computer aided engineering (CAE) methodology
  • Experience of developing and deploying CAE technology appropriate for the business to have an operational impact
  • Detailed experience of vehicle design, simulation and testing
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and simulation data management (SDM) systems
  • Clear understanding of project and budget delivery in line with business objectives
  • Strong communication, influencing, motivational and leadership skills at a variety of levels.
  • A degree or equivalent engineering experience is required for all engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in German language would be an advantage.
