About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity for an
Employment Advisor - Widening Participation to join the Careers team at Edge Hill University and make a real difference to the lives of our students and graduates.


Careers are an innovative, fast paced, and exciting team to work in and this role provides a rewarding opportunity to work across the whole institution supporting students throughout their time with us, from pre-entry to post graduation.

As an inclusive institution we welcome students from all backgrounds.

In this role you will positively target and deliver activities to support students who might find accessing higher education presents additional barriers and who may require greater levels of transitional support.


You will provide a positive first impression and facilitate initial information and advice on a wide range of careers and employability issues.

Offering high quality one to one support, you will also design and deliver engaging presentations, group work sessions and e-guidance for Edge Hill students and graduates to help them access employability opportunities and achieve successful student transition and progression into graduate employment and postgraduate study.

About You

As
Employment Adviser - Widening Participation, you will:


  • be an enthusiastic, creative problem solver with a friendly and approachable nature.
- have experience and evidence of successfully working with students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- be knowledgeable on issues and barriers relating to progression to highly skilled employment, with specific focus on widening participation.
- have evidence of successful creative, innovative & motivational skills and how you use these to engage students, particularly those from underrepresented groups, in career-related activities.
- be able to relate to students from a variety of backgrounds with empathy, sensitivity and inclusivity.
