It's an exciting time for our Waste and Recycling team who have rolled out a brand new glass recycling service across Newark and Sherwood this Spring.
We are now recruiting for a LGV Driver to help deliver all waste services to homes across the district including general waste collection, recycling, garden and trade waste along with the new glass recycling service.
You will drive and have responsibility for any of the Council's heavy goods and light goods vehicles including refuse collection, recycling or road sweeping.
Ensuring that the vehicles are kept clean and in good working order at all times meet the standards set down in law with respect to legal vehicle operation is essential.
The positions will entail working unsociable hours in all weathers. You should be physically fit, with the ability to work alone and unsupervised. Full training, uniform and PPE will be provided. Experience in working in a similar environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
You will be based at the Council's Brunel Drive Depot in Newark and possessing a clean Category C driving licence and valid Drivers CPC Card and Qualification is essential.
Working past the usual finish time is sometimes required where there is a need in order to provide a full service to residents.
We offer enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service, a whole host of family-friendly benefits, 1 days' paid volunteering leave, lifestyle benefits platform, funded health cash plan, and £10 a month gym membership at one of our four gyms in the district.
