ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Designer - Interior Design you will collaborate with the Lead Design Manager to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100 strategy.
This role is key to leading the generation design solutions for Bentley's new products in an efficient and effective manner, supporting the department's and the Company's requirements.
Develop and present formal and functional solutions that integrate innovation and creativity in future Bentley product proposals achieving a high visual quality fulfilling the agreed technical and ergonomic requirements.
The Design Team works cross functionally within R&D with a team of designers, engineers and other internal/VW Group functions to translate design visions and future technologies into 3D surfaces.
MAIN
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and supervising the development of the Design proposals in 3D media, as physical and digital models.
- Process coordination with the systematic and timely procurement of all required documentation regarding the design input as required by the model build and development.
- Leading and supervising the design proposals on models, cocoordinating the work with the involved functional departments.
- Supervising the development of surfaces in 3D data, ensuring that surfaces adhere to preagreed gap & radius plans & other preagreed technical documentation & hard points.
- Managing project budgets set on each individual project and ensuring design work is developed by self and Designers is within these limits.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong ability to use at a high standard, 2D (Photoshop or similar) & 3D (Alias, Sub-D or similar) software, design and development skills.
- Process coordination with the systematic and timely procurement of all required documentation regarding the design input as required by the model build and development,
- Proposal of technical and design solutions based on sound technical information.
- Demonstrable up to date knowledge of competitor design direction and stateoftheart technologies for area of expertise.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and section books with detailed understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
- Problem solving and creation of practical solutions also the ability to communicate and present design proposals across different forums.
