Purpose of the Role:


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Finance Business Partner for our Solihull based Derwent plant, which is a key part of the Installations, Nacelles & Controls (INC) OBU.

The plant has approximately 480k Manufacturing Standard Hours (STH) and headcount of around 320 FTE.

To provide Finance Business Partner support to the Manufacturing Executive (INC), along with their first line leadership team.

This includes advising and challenging the business to make the right decisions on internal domestic cost and associated risk, providing strategic insight and business acumen to help drive cost reduction performance across the organization.

This role is to be executed while adhering to relevant standardized processes and systems and retaining overall financial control within the manufacturing plant.


Core Duties and Responsibilities of Site Finance Business Partner:

  • Member of the Control Systems Leadership team, driving the business to achieve strong financial performance in the short and medium term, by providing insight and challenge to the wider teams.
  • Translate strategy into financial plans and that improve business performance and coordinate financial forecasts across the plant.
  • Coaching manufacturing & functional leadership and their teams to improve financial acumen and promote a costconscious culture creating a clear visible link from local actions into Product Unit cost (ESVs).
  • Review of actuals vs forecasts including insightful commentary, identifying trends, and any corrective actions required to the Manufacturing & Functional Leadership teams.
  • Provide financial and business advice and governance to the business in raising capital schemes; review and maintain business cases for plant investments and tooling. Ensure that capital requirements are appropriately planned, and business cases are sound.
  • Ensure strategic change proposals are assessed with a strong business and financial lens. Work with OBU strategy team and programme management teams to ensure that appropriate financial management and governance is maintained.
  • Professional (qualified accountant or qualified by experience) who has demonstrated strong interpersonal, influencing and organisational skills. Finance management or business partner experience with knowledge of Oracle Hyperion.
  • Stakeholder management, working with finance and on finance, communicate and work with people at all level work independently, manage indirect people, good team player.
  • Able to identify opportunities (business / commercial and process / efficiency) and drive execution.
  • Strong improvement focus to seek simplicity, strong communicator, selfstarter, comfortable challenging the status quo, credible with senior business stakeholders.
  • Able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Able to analyze and interpret complex financial information providing insight through simple and effective presentation of management information.
  • Well organized, resilient and flexible.
